Welcome, drifters! We're now a little less than two weeks away from the Alpha Demo #2 release. June 27th, 2021. On that day, I invite all of you to visit our itch.io page to download the demo! I ask for just a bit more of your patience as I wrap up programming on the current scenario. You may be wondering what you should expect from this next demo, so let's jump right in!

Alpha Demo #2 Scope

After some delays, the work on Alpha Demo #1 resulted in an experience that offered an early glimpse into how a single action would more or less feel in Drifter Dynasty. The second demo cranks up the heat, allowing you to completely play through an early version of the first chapter's combat section. I figure this segment will constitute at least 15 minutes of gameplay, featuring a story that introduces the world and some characters of Drifter Dynasty.

Barroom Beginnings

What better place to start an homage to the Wild West than a cozy barroom? This area will house the first cutscene and tutorial. The player will have an opportunity to learn some of the basic actions before being thrust into the main scenario.

A Town Under Attack

Here it is - the main entrée. Grandline Town has recently fell into the grips of Ezekio and his group of bandits. Now it's up to our protagonist, The Drifter, and the allies he'll meet in this chapter to drive them out. Truthfully, the plot for this first chapter is fairly straightforward, but I hope enough of the style reaches you!

Social Media Campaign

Despite me mentioning that I would return to posting gameplay on Twitter in the last blog post, the actualization did not come to fruition. Never fear! This grand return is still in the works, and will formally kick off June 20th, 2021. Every day for a week until the release of Alpha Demo #2, I'll unveil a new or improved feature that you can look forward to trying out firsthand!

This update was intentionally succinct. Actions speak louder than words, and I hope that Alpha Demo #2 will communicate the passion that I have for the Drifter Dynasty.
